My Personal Information
First Name :: Jamie
Last Name :: Steele
Age :: 22
Location :: Whittier, Southern California
Occupation :: I hope to someday become a journalist.
Hobbies :: I love the Beatles, Sherlock Holmes and writing stories. You can check out my journal here.
Personal Bio :: My full name is Jamie Ann Steele, I'm 17 and completely nonsensical. I have an identical twin sister, Jessica, with whom I've partnered up with to create the wonderful website, Jamie & Jessie Productions. At this site, we post skits and song parodies that we've written ourselves -- so creative, so hillarious, they defy explanation. Well, almost.
I really dig classic rock (give me some Aerosmith, Led Zepplin, ZZ-Top and AC/DC, I'll be your friend forever) but my ultimate favorite, the godfathers of classic rock -- The Beatles (don't believe me, get a load of the White Album!).

*ADVENTURES IN WRITING*
I also really like writing. It's my favorite hobby! It all started maybe two years ago (maybe even less) when I was a huge X-Files junkie. I'd post at message boards and submit poetry, but then I noticed how many fanfics were being submitted and I thought, "hey, I can do that!" I teamed up with another girl to write one, but it sucked so hard that when my computer crashed, I didn't care that I lost it. It REALLY stank. I tried again a few months later after a cyber-friend posted a fic challenge and I went for it.
At the time I thought it was the greatest work of art ever made by man, but when I read it again a few months later, I thought, "what a pile of crap!" I gave up on the X-Files and fanfic soon after, and I was desperately bored with nothing to obsess over.
It was here that my dad re-introduced me to the Beatles. Now, I had always liked the Beatles, and I had thought in my thirteen years of wisdom that I knew everything there was to know about them. Actually, I didn't know anything. My basic knowledge of them consisted only of what I'd seen in the Beatle movies "Help!", "Yellow Submarine" and the little bits of information my dad would feed me. You can imagine my surprise when my dad played "Revolution," "Helter Skelter" and "Yer Blues" to me for the first time, I thought the Beatles were just sixties pop!
From then on, I was an official beatlemaniac. I looked up websites on the Beatles to check out the fan world, and I laughed out loud when I found out there was Beatle fanfic! My train of thought was, "I can understand fanfic for a show, but The Beatles? Those are real people!"
I refused to check it out, but my curiosity eventually got the best of me. I read some fanfics and decided I liked beatle fanfic a WHOLE lot more than X-Files fanfic. It was much more complicated to write *because* they were real people and forced you to do research on your writing-- about personality traits, beatle history and even history in general. The challenge this presented to my mind seemed almost too irresistable.
That's when writing became a full-time hobby. I wanted to write like the "Rooftop Sessions" fanfic authors (the fics anywhere else, sad to say, need much work. Rooftop is simply awesome). I dove into writing-- I got books, I watched all of the Beatle movies (except for "Let It Be", it's impossible to find) and I made full advantage of the Beatle tapes and CDs in my grasp.
It took much time and effort to sort through the many weeds of plots and ideas until I finally found a gem. The story I'm currently working on, "The Baggage Claim", has taken me a long time to work on but I'm loving it all of the way. I'm currently wrapping up part three of what's expected to consist of five parts total, but I may submit it to some message boards and have others beta my work, in case I've made plot holes or if there is anything the readers would like me to add...
Anyway, writing has and always will be a major part of my life, and this story has definitely taught me that. If you've never written anything yet, give it a go! Believe me, even though your first few stories may totally suck (like mine did), you can still have a lot of fun. Just be patient in finding that perfect plot.
