wands
Hi All
Up until now I never felt the need for a wand, now I have a strange urge to make a wand out of olive wood.
I looked everywhere on the net, nothing seems to explain much about its correspondances. Most I find are ash, alder, ebony, willow, cypress, but not much olive.
I trust that I feel this need because of a reason I yet don't understand, so I will, I just need more correspondances than the shallow peace stuff.
the only reference I read was in one place that said hermes's wand the cadeuceus was of olive wood, with 2 intertwined serpents and a winged helmet on one end.. and that is the sign used commonly now to symbolize medecine. I also read it is the strongest for self defense and luck. another thing I read is that wherever there are olive trees is considered sacred ground.
I need more to go if I'm gonna make my wand, more correspondances so I chose my day and timing etc...
Help

Re: wands
Cara....I have been trying to find some info too, but without much luck. Rosewood is on the endangered list. Rosewood bark is used to make oil, but the wood itself is not plentiful. You could find the properties of rosewood oil....maybe that will help!

Re: wands
Cara.....I found a little more about the properties of olive wood, or should I say the people born under the olivewood.
Olive Wood: Only people born on Sept. 23rd.
Loves sun, warmth, and warm feelings, reasonable, balanced, avoids aggression and violence, tolerant, cheerful, calm, well developed sense of justice, sensitive, empathic, free from jealousy, loves to read, and the company of sophisticated people.
If I can find anything more I will post it Cara!!

Re: wands
hi and thx again,
I found a new reference
it says that olive trees correspond to Jupiter while olive oil to planet Venus
So I looked up Jupiter correspondences, Do u think they would be the same as for olive trees? Somehow I feel olive trees correspond more to Venus and fridays and color greens!
I can't see olive trees (selfdefense, luck, peace, lust, potency, protection, healing) as a Jupiter tree!
Let me know what u think!!

Re: wands
Well I just had to do it...
early after dawn, I went out chose my olive tree, asked it for a twig and took it as fast as I could.
cleaned the twig and rubbed it with sand paper, then I smudged it with its own shavings and with chamomile.
after that, I oiled it first with cinnamon oil, then with cardamom oil, then orange oil, and last with musk oil. any special thoughts about what you think the combination will bring out?
